Our ADA-compliant rooms are located on the first floor, along with ramps and an elevator for easy access to rooms on the second and third floors. Flat pathways are also present to make it easy for guests with walkers or wheelchairs to navigate the property. We do encourage guests with accessibility needs to contact us prior to booking to ensure that we can meet any specific requirements.
Amenities
Locale is pleased to offer children’s Pack ‘n Play playpens free of charge upon request. We recommend guests request the playpens while making your hotel booking. Yes, all Locale guests are offered complimentary made-to-order hot breakfast every morning between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. from the onsite restaurant, Bonfire Urban Kitchen. All Locale inclusive breakfast options come with bottomless brewed coffee. Our complimentary Locale breakfast options include:

Yes, each room is equipped with a safe. The safe is in the cupboards by the kitchenette. We recommend using the safe to safeguard your valuables and important documents. If you need any assistance with the safe, feel free to contact our Front Desk.

Yes, The Locale Hotel has a saltwater pool. It is open daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older. Diving is strictly prohibited, and we kindly ask guests not to bring food or drinks into the pool area. Chairs and sun loungers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and reservations are not permitted. The hotel is not responsible for any loss or damage to personal property while using the pool or exercise facilities. Please note, there is no lifeguard on duty, and guests swim at their own risk. The hotel, staff, and management assume no responsibility for injuries sustained while using the pool facility.
Yes, our fitness station is located on the pool deck. Operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. all week. Please refrain from bringing food, and ensure no minors utilize the equipment. The Locale Hotel assumes no responsibility for injuries resulting directly or indirectly from the use or misuse of the equipment.

Beach
Enjoy a relaxing day at the beach with our complimentary beach chairs, beach umbrella, bags, and towels. To make your experience seamless, simply visit the Front Desk, provide your room number, and let us know which items you’ll be taking—whether it’s towels, chairs, bags, etc. Upon your return, simply provide your room number, and our staff will mark off the items you’ve borrowed. For guests with longer stays (5-9 days), we’re pleased to offer the option to keep the beach chairs in your rental car. We kindly request daily towel returns at the Front Desk.
While The Locale Hotel isn’t directly situated on the beachfront, guests can easily access Seven Mile Beach via a convenient 10-minute walk down West Bay Road. Once you are outside the hotel’s main entrance, head north towards the West Shore Center. Past the center you will see a large tunnel. Fire & Emergencies
At The Locale Hotel, your safety is our top concern. To ensure your well-being, fire alarms have been installed in all units. It is important to note that ‘tampering with these alarms or smoke detectors is not permitted.’ These alarms are positioned to enhance safety and should only be triggered in the event of a fire. During emergency situations, we kindly request that you avoid using the elevator and proceed down one of our three stairwells instead. If a fire alarm is activated, we kindly ask you to calmly proceed to the parking lot, making sure that everyone in your group is accounted for. Once everyone is accounted for, a hotel staff member will guide you across the street to an open field. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a secure environment for all our guests.

The choice to rent a car depends on your plans. Grand Cayman has a public bus system and taxis. Renting a car offers convenience and flexibility for exploring at your own pace. Consider your itinerary and preferences when deciding on transportation.
Consider purchasing travel insurance before your trip. It can provide peace of mind in case of unforeseen events or travel disruptions.
It’s customary to leave a 10-15% tip for services in restaurants, taxis, and hotels, though many businesses will add an automatic gratuity to your bill.
All visitors over the age of 18 may bring with them:
Up to 1 liter of spirits (liquor); OR 4 liters of wine; OR 1 case of beer (not exceeding 8 liters). In addition to the alcohol, you may also bring tobacco as follows: Up to 200 cigarettes OR 250 grams of tobacco.
Electricity is the same as the United States and Canada (110 volts, 60 Hz). There is no need for adaptors.
While citizens of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and most EU countries do not require a travel visa, passport holders from many Asian, African, and Middle East countries will need a travel visa to pass through Customs. It is best to check the Cayman Islands’ government website about visa requirements.

Yes, water on Grand Cayman is safe to cook with and drink. The Cayman Water Authority regulates 2 water purification companies that supply fresh drinking water across the island through underground pipes to each property & condo. Visit waterauthority.ky for more information.

The Cayman Islands have their own currency. The US Dollar is also accepted virtually everywhere on the island and most businesses and tour operators accept all major credit cards. The exchange rate is fixed at US$1.00 = CI$0.80 or CI$1.00 = US$1.25 (note: change is always given in CI$).

In the Cayman Islands, driving is on the LEFT side, a notable difference from the US. Well-maintained roads and clear maps and signage make navigating the island straightforward.
Grand Cayman offers a public mini-bus transport system that connects all districts. Buses are easily identifiable by a number in a colored circle. You can flag down a bus at any point, and there are bus stops along major routes. Fares range from CI$2 to CI$2.50 for short trips, CI$3.50 to East End, and CI$8 to Cayman Kai. If you’re heading to the end of the line, confirm with the driver about return buses, especially for late afternoon travel.

Our housekeepers are available 7 days a week, including holidays. Service will not be provided if the “do not disturb” sign is on the door. Fresh towels, coffee, and sunscreen are all available for guests anytime at the Front Desk if needed.

No, our housekeepers do not clean personal laundry. However, The Locale Hotel provides a convenient ‘Fluff n Fold’ laundry service with a 24-hour turnaround time and hassle-free Front Desk pickup. Laundry bags are conveniently placed in your room for your use. To avail of this service, simply bring your filled bag to the Front Desk for pickup. The cost is determined by weight, approximately $1.50 CI per pound.
If you misplace or find any items during your stay, please contact our Front Desk. We will do our best to assist in locating or returning lost items to their rightful owners. Please check with the Front Desk for any missing or misplaced items. The Locale Hotel cannot assume responsibility for any missing items left behind.

Policies
The Locale Hotel is a 100% smoke-free property, every room is equipped with a smoke detector. Smoking inside of the rooms is not permitted and will incur a $250 cleaning fee that will be applied to your credit card. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a smoke-free environment for all our guests.
While a deposit will not be collected, guests are required to present a valid credit card upon check-in to cover any loss or damage of property that may occur in their rental unit during their stay.
We charge a USD $30 per night hospitality fee. In addition, rates are subject to a 13% government tax and a 7% gratuity charge.
As a guest at The Locale Hotel, you are permitted to have visitors between the hours of 8 a.m. and 10 p.m. Visitors may not stay overnight. If you would like to host visitors during your stay with us, please ensure that they stop by our Front Desk upon arrival. Unregistered visitors are not permitted to use any facilities, including but not limited to the pool and fitness area. However, everyone is welcome at Bonfire Urban Kitchen, the on-site restaurant.
General Cancellation Policy (Jan. 2 to Dec. 18):
- Reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 7 days prior to check-in.
- 100% of the total will be charged for cancellations received within 7 days of check-in, or in the event of no-shows or early departures.
- No refunds or credits will be issued for any unused portion of a stay.
Holiday Cancellation Policy (Dec. 19 to Jan. 1):
- Holiday reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 30 days prior to check-in.
- 100% of the total will be charged for cancellations received within 30 days of check-in, or in the event of no-shows or early departures.
- No refunds or credits will be issued for any unused portion of a stay.
If a guest discovers any damages or malfunctions in their room, they must immediately report it to the Front Desk. Failure to report damages may result in the guest being held responsible for repairs or replacements. We reserve the right to assess and determine the extent of damages. The guest will be informed of the associated costs for repairs or replacements, and the charges will be applied to the guest’s credit card on file. Guests are responsible for the care and maintenance of the room during their stay. Any damages caused by the guest, or their visitors will be the financial responsibility of the registered guest. This includes, but is not limited to, damages to furniture, fixtures, linens, and electronic devices. Upon check-in and check-out, our staff conducts a thorough inspection of each room. Any preexisting damages will be noted, and guests are encouraged to report any discrepancies to the Front Desk within 60 minutes of entering the room.
Unless noted otherwise on your official reservation confirmation, the following deposit and cancellation policies will be applied.
Deposit Policy (Nights of Jan. 2 to Dec. 23):
- A credit card is required as a guarantee upon booking a reservation.
- A 1-night deposit including room charge, hospitality fee and taxes, will be charged at time of booking, prior to issuing a confirmation.
- If the hotel does not receive a deposit within 72 hours of booking, then the hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation without notice.
- The remaining balance may be charged at any time within 7 days of check-in.
Holiday Deposit Policy (Dec. 24 to Jan. 1):
- The holiday travel period extends from the night of December 24th up to and including the night of January 1st.
- A 3-night minimum stay is required for all reservations which fall within the holiday travel period.
- A credit card is required as a guarantee upon booking a holiday reservation.
- A 50% deposit including room charge, hospitality fee and taxes, will be charged at time of booking, prior to issuing a confirmation.
- If the hotel does not receive a deposit within 72 hours of booking, then the hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation without notice.
- The remaining balance may be charged at any time within 30 days of arrival.

No, there is no minimum stay requirement at The Locale Hotel.
If a hurricane warning is issued for the Cayman Islands by the National Hurricane Center within seven days of your scheduled arrival date, you may call or email to reschedule your reservation, or cancel your reservation and receive a full refund. If a hurricane warning is issued during your stay and you are forced to depart early, a refund will be issued for any unused nights.
*A hurricane is characterized as a well-defined system of showers and thunderstorms with a distinct circulation center and maximum winds of 74 mph (64 knots) or greater.
