Hotel Policies

To ensure an enjoyable stay for all of our guests, we encourage reviewing our hotel policies prior to your arrival. Please note that policies are subject to change without notice.

GENERAL POLICIES

  • Check-in time is at 4:00 PM and check-out time is at 11:00 AM.
  • Guests arriving early are welcome to use the hotel’s facilities while a room is being prepared. Luggage storage is available at our front desk.
  • Rates are quoted in USD and do not include taxes or service fee (25% total).
  • A hospitality fee of $30 USD per day is charged in addition to the room rate.
  • The hospitality fee entitles all guests on a reservation to the following services and amenities:
    • Free daily breakfast (made to order)
    • Free Wi-Fi in room and throughout the hotel
    • Free parking
    • Free local calling
    • Free use of Locale beach towels
  • Rates are subject to change without notice.
  • While every effort is made to accommodate requests, room assignments cannot be guaranteed.
  • Guests must be 18 or older to place a reservation. Guests under the age of 18 are only allowed to check-in with a parent or official guardian.
  • Pets are not permitted at the hotel.
  • The Local Hotel Grand Cayman is a 100% smoke free property.

ROOM OCCUPANCY & EXTRA PERSON FEES

  • The rates for each room category are based off the following number of occupants:
  • The maximum occupancy in each room category is as follows:
  • Extra person fees of $20 USD + tax and fees, per person, per night apply for the 3rd and 4th guest in a Double Queen Room or Penthouse Suite, or for the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th guest in a Family Suite. Please see individual accommodation pages for details.
  • Extra person fees may be charged upon check-in if the unit is occupied by more guests than originally booked.
  • Extra person fees will not be charged for children ages 2 and under.
  • Cribs are available at no additional charge (based on availability). Please request cribs at time of booking.

DEPOSIT POLICY

Unless noted otherwise on your official reservation confirmation, the following deposit and cancellation policies will be applied.

Deposit Policy (Nights of January 2 to December 23)
  • A credit card is required as a guarantee upon booking a reservation.
  • A 1 night deposit including room charge, hospitality fee and taxes, will be charged at time of booking, prior to issuing a confirmation.
  • If the hotel does not receive a deposit within 72 hours of booking, then the hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation without notice.
  • The remaining balance may be charged at any time within 7 days of check-in.
Holiday Deposit Policy (December 24 to January 1)
  • The holiday travel period extends from the night of December 24th up to and including the night of January 1st.
  • A 3 night minimum stay is required for all reservations which fall within the holiday travel period.
  • A credit card is required as a guarantee upon booking a holiday reservation.
  • A 50% deposit including room charge, hospitality fee and taxes, will be charged at time of booking, prior to issuing a confirmation.
  • If the hotel does not receive a deposit within 72 hours of booking, then the hotel reserves the right to cancel a reservation without notice.
  • The remaining balance may be charged at any time within 30 days of arrival.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation Policy (Jan.2 to Dec.18)
  • Reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 7 days prior to check-in.
  • 100% of the total will be charged for cancellations received within 7 days of check-in, or in the event of no-shows or early departures.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued for any unused portion of a stay.
Holiday Cancellation Policy (Dec.18 to Jan.2)
  • Holiday reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 30 days prior to check-in.
  • 100% of the total will be charged for cancellations received within 30 days of check-in, or in the event of no-shows or early departures.
  • No refunds or credits will be issued for any unused portion of a stay.

HURRICANE POLICY

  • If a hurricane warning is issued for the Cayman Islands by the National Hurricane Center within seven days of your scheduled arrival date, you may call or email to reschedule your reservation, or cancel your reservation and receive a full refund.
  • If a hurricane warning is issued during your stay and you are forced to depart early, a refund will be issued for any unused nights.

POOL RULES

  • The hotel pool is open for guest use from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.
  • Diving is strictly prohibited.
  • Food and drink are not permitted inside the pool.
  • Chairs and sun loungers may not be reserved in advance.
  • The hotel is not responsible for loss or damage to any personal property that may occur while using the pool or exercise facilities.
  • Please note that no lifeguard is on duty. Guests swim at their own risk, and the hotel, staff and management are not responsible for any injuries sustained while using the pool or exercise facilities.
